St. Sebastian, an officer of the imperial cohort, was pierced with arrows in the persecution of Diocletian; but he recovered, and the emperor condemned him to be flogged to death, A.D. 284.

St. Anastasius, a monk of Persia, was put to death with seventy other Christians under Chosroes A.D. 628.
