St. Titus, Bishop of Crete, was one of the most faithful disciples of St. Paul.  The Apostle wrote to Titus a letter included in Holy Scripture.  He died A.D. 101.
Also the Commemoration of St. Dorothy, Virgin & Martyr.  St. Dorothy of Caesarea in Cappadocia was beheaded at the end of the third century.  She died A.D. 275.

St. Romuald founded the Order of Camaldoli, one of the branches of the Benedictine Order, in which the eremitical life is united with the cenobitical.  He died at the age of 120, A.D. 1027.

St. Cyril, Bishop of Alexandria, fought with his pen and his eloquence against the Nestorians.  He presided in the name of Pope Celestine at the great Council of Ephesus, where the heresy of Nestorius was condemned, and he successfully defended the truth concerning the Mother of God and our Savior in His twofold nature of God and Man.  He died A.D. 444.

St. Apollonia, Virgin of Alexandria, after having her teeth broken, cast herself into the flames prepared for her, under the emporer Decius, A.D. 259.

Seven noble Florentines founded in 1233 the Order of Servites of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  The Servites led an austere life, meditating constantly on the Passion of Our Lord and venerating the Blessed Virgin as Our Lady of Sorrows.

The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed until dark (6 pm) Sunday and Monday and we will have the closing prayers and Benediction prior to the 12:10 Mass on Shrove Tuesday. There is a signup sheet in the vestibule. We need one person to commit to each hour but EVERYONE is invited to come and spend some time in prayer before Our Lord. You may gained a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions if you spend at least half an hour in prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
